On Assignment Projects

Choose one of these On Assignment projects, and break into teams to delve further into your area of focus.

Photography

Through a series of specific assignments, photo shoots, and critique sessions, develop the skills necessary to portray the sharp allure of tango dancers at a milonga, or the muted colors of a Palermo café at sunset. Show others your vision of Buenos Aires with a culminating photo-essay of your own choosing.

Creative Writing

With the guidance and feedback of a published writer, describe and evoke the many facets of city life. Be introspective, or boldly challenge your reader with tantalizing glimpses of San Telmo’s cobblestone streets, or a verbal portrait of the friendly countryside gaucho. Constructively critique each other’s work as you build a compelling portfolio.

Filmmaking

Produce, shoot, and edit a short piece, in either documentary or narrative style, as part of a digital video-production team. Interview a street performer, go behind the scenes at the sizzling grill of an asador, or film a dramatic scene by the colorful riverside promenade of Tigre while you master the basics of mobile filmmaking.
